The purpose of this study was to examine the quality of peer review in 3 scholarly nursing journals (Advances in Nursing Science, Issues in Mental Health Nursing, Journal of Holistic Nursing) from the perspective of authors and editors. Quality of peer review, for the purposes of this study, was defined as manuscript reviews that provided constructive guidance for authors to further develop their work for publication, and for editors to make informed and sound decisions concerning the disposition of manuscripts.
